I really enjoyed being the guest host at the Colorado High School Mountain Bike League Fundraiser in Colorado about a week ago. It was amazing to hear stories from the high school cyclists and how the sport has impacted their lives. The other striking thing to me was the involvement of their families. All the photos on the slideshow at the event were either of students racing or of parents hugging their students. It definitely brought a tear to my eye. Cycling changes lives and relationships.
My key takeaway from my speech was:
“Leave perfectionism at the door and have fun.”
